India-Pakistan match in Ahmedabad on October 15
The cricketing world is abuzz with excitement as the International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the match schedule for the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023. The matches will be played at 10 venues and will continue for 46 days. The World Cup will be played between 10 teams. The first eight teams have already been qualified through the Cricket World Cup Super League, while the two spots will be decided at the end of the qualifying tournament in Zimbabwe on July 9.
The mega event will kick off on October 5 with a match between England and New Zealand in Ahmedabad. The much-anticipated match between arch-rivals India and Pakistan will also be played in Ahmedabad on October 15. Hosts India will face five-time World Cup champion Australia on October 8 in Chennai. Pakistan will play against Australia in Bengaluru on October 20, while England will face South Africa on October 21 in Mumbai.
India will fight England on October 29 in Lucknow. The final group stage match will be played between England and Pakistan on November 12 in Kolkata. The first semi-final will be held on Wednesday, November 15, in Mumbai. The second semi-final will be played in Kolkata on November 16. The Final will be held in Ahmedabad on November 19.
The International Cricket Council has already launched the 2023 World Cup Trophy Tour at India’s Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. According to the Council, the balloon crossed more than 99.5% of the Earth’s atmosphere with a temperature of -65°C at the peak altitude.
The Trophy Tour will visit locations in 18 countries across five continents. Around one million fans are expected to connect with the trophy before the beginning of the highly anticipated global event.
The trophy will tour over 20 cities in India. It will also go to participating countries, including Bahrain, Kuwait, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, Nigeria, Uganda, France, Italy, and the United States.
